Following the transformation: Monarch Butterfly
The milkweed, a favorite food source (nectar), for the Monarch butterflies, has burst into bloom just a few feet away.
As some of you might recall (from an earlier post), I was monitoring the cocoon of another Monarch. Eagerly, each morning, I would dash to see if he had begun his transformation, spawned his wings and had set flight. I missed it!
I’m sorry to read of your disappointment! The same thing used to happen to me when I was waiting for the birth of my foals. I think the mares deliberately held on to them until I went into the house for something.

Maybe I’ll get lucky. I went to water, yesterday, and all but one caterpillar had left the nursery.
Oh my gosh, I’d have to sleep in the stable. I love horses, and their little ones are so precious!

I would move out there and flit around with them, but the humidity and the Mosquitos have invaded our territory. 😘
